When we first became a Fodera dealer, we were elated with the introduction of the Standard Series instruments. However, at that time there was not an option for a 5-string Monarch Standard. After begging and pleading, they agreed to make one for us. They have since added the Monarch 5 Standard to their product offerings, but this one is an exclusive for The Music Loft. Featuring a Music Loft Select Redwood Burl top, this particular piece of wood was chosen because the grain orientation followed the contours and outline of the body shape beautifully - this piece of wood WANTED to become a Monarch bass! In addition, we also had the body made out of Black Limba - a wood combination not available on the Standard Series instruments, and exclusive to only us! This bass features a 3-piece Hard Rock Maple bolt-on neck, an Ebony fretboard, a Buckeye Burl/Holly butterfly inlay on the headstock, Fodera/Seymour Duncan Dual Coil pickups, and Fodera's Pope 3-band preamp. The 34" scale is super comfortable, and with the woods and electronics combination, give this bass a very strong fundamental, lots of punch and clarity.
