It might be half the size of Mayones' custom series basses, but it carries the same design philosophy & great tone, playability and highest attention to built quality and ergonomics.
Neck-through-body construction (in both wenge and maple versions), beautiful top woods, highest quality fit & finish – no step has been skipped to ensure that Cali are 100% up to Mayones quality you expect.
It has also one additional feature – Cali is a perfect travel companion due to its compact size and built-in headphone amp. It’s easy to carry, pack and set up to play everywhere & every time.
The goal and intention is to save as much wood as possible in the production pipeline – Cali is built from leftovers of quality woods used for our full-size instruments, which are too small to use in a regular-sized instrument. It's available in a limited numbers each year.
This particular Cali Bass 5 features a beautiful Buckeye Burl top over a Swamp Ash body. Built for the 2026 NAMM Show, this bass features a custom cavity cover that is hand-numbered, showing this bass is instrument number 49 of 50 built for the NAMM show. These amazing little basses are few and far between, so be sure to snag it while you can!
