2023 marks the 30th Anniversary of The Music Loft! To commemorate this special anniversary, we travelled up to the Spector USA factory to hand-select woods for a series of special custom builds. Each of these basses were meticulously spec'd and crafted to offer the best options and aesthetics possible from Spector USA, while retaining what has made Spector basses cherished worldwide.
This bass is an extremely special build courtesy of the solid Quilted Maple body wings. Quilted Maple has been very difficult to source over the last few years, especially in pieces large enough and figured enough to be used for solid body wings. When we were selecting the woods for our run of instruments to commemorate, we were amazed that Spector had procured for us a single piece of Quilted Maple that we were able to use to get both body wings out of. To avoid this bass being extremely heavy - Maple is not lightweight! - we had these body wings chambered for weight relief before they were glued up to the 3pc Maple neck. The figure in this set of wood is absolutely gorgeous, and with the transparent burst wrapping over the edge, you can follow the figure all the way around the bass. Needless to say, pictures barely do this bass justice. When viewing in person, it's almost hypnotizing!
